names
So, I have yet to find a name that I really like. Unfortunately Lonnie has found several names that he likes. So he has posted a poll over on the right hand side of this page. In the meantime....we are open for suggestions. :)
check out nymbler.com I always recommend it...it's actually how we found Preston's name. You enter names you like (boy and girl) and it generates new ones based on those. Then you can click on a name to see the stats and meaning.
We decided on Maya early on....and then other names for Max when we thought he was a girl. But Max was really the only boy name we could come up with. We named him Max Elliott. We thought about naming him Max Stout (Lonnie's mom's maiden name). Say Max Stout fast. Lonnie didn't think he could do the blessing with out laughing.
There is one Maori name that I like as a middle name....Tane.
That's pretty funny Alisa, "unfortuantely Lonnie has found several..." :) Sorry I'm no good with boy names. It took us a couple days, after he was born, to settle on Henry's name! I always thought that was rediculous but then it happened to us too. Good luck :)
I like 'Trent', since that name has a special meaning for Lonnie and the rest of us Mercer's :-) It would be kind of nice if it was the baby's middle name. That is if it's not a name you intensely dislike, Alisa. Also, I love the Maori name as a first name, but then the double T might bug you - Tane Trent or reverse, Trent Tane. Actually I like the latter best. Then again if you want to keep with the 'M' first letter thing I found a bunch of possibilities: Macon (that's with the k sound, but even Mason is good since our family just loves having multiple people with the same name ;)
Malachi Merrick Mark (Marcus, Markham) Maake Mabry Macario Mako Macy Magnum Makai Malcolm Manley Marty Manuel Maskill Maverick Mercer (just kidding!) Micah Mick Milan Miles Milo Milos Myron Mitch Misu Moki Monroe Montague Monte (Lonnie should love that one ;) Morey Morgan Mortimer Morton Moses Motega Mukasa Muraco Murphy Murray Mustafa Myer Myron
Obnoxious?!!! But I'm having too much fun! Seriously, good luck. I know you guys will come up with something very fitting that you both (hopefully) like!
oh...boy names are difficult. Any family names you like? {that's how we ended up with Henry {gggpa}, Clay{cousin}, and Sam{gggpa}} This next one better be a girl, or my boys are naming it Teancum...yikes!
Ha ha! Marti, I have come up with a lot of good names while watching sports, but it's always been watching U of U sports (I thought "Malakai Mokofisi Mercer" would be pretty awesome).
Did you have any other name ideas for Max before you settled on Max?

ReplyDeleteAs a BYU basketball fan, I think you should name him Jimmer!!

ReplyDeleteLonnie, that would be an awesome name, maybe hard to spell and pronounce, but awesome!
